While the state of Utah only requires those who want to take the licensing exam to have 576 classroom hours, this program goes above and beyond to offer 720.

This is to ensure that all students will be absolutely prepared for the rigorous state testing.

The program is designed to complement the on-the-job training apprentices receive through their employer, although MTECH does not provide on-the-job training through the program, so individuals are responsible for finding their own employment opportunities.

During the Fall and Spring semesters, students in this program will attend classes twice a week, so it’s easy to squeeze in classroom learning on top of working.

Daytime classes are offered as well, for those who want to accelerate the learning process.

Both high school students and adults are eligible to enroll in this program.

However, it should be noted that only adults can enroll in evening classes, due to the large demand for spots.

High school students can work with their schools to set up a way to attend classes during the day time.
